Azi says....

Auntie Cass here….Azi is now nearly 2.5……I'm trying to think back on the many, many times Azi has made me laugh, even if it's just a dramatic facial expression that shows exactly what she's thinking (no words needed) or very expressive hand gestures that show just how she feels.

One day she was sitting on the couch when I walked in…

Cass: Azi what you doing?

Azi: Azi relaxing (with a cheeky twinkle in her eye)

We were sitting on the grass at Bondi, and she wanted to go to the park…

Cass: We can go just as soon as I finish my salad

Azi: ok (puts here hand up in a stop motion), finish salad…chew niiiicely!

Azi preceding to take her jumper off….."Azi SO boiling"

She often says: "Anywaaaaay", "That's perfect"

She's also very independent, so if someone offers help, she usually says these days "I'm FINE"

Azi was hanging out at my house, and she asked if we could paint her nails

Cass: No Az, mummy will say it will hurt you (i.e. it's toxic)

Azi: No it's FINE. It SO safe!

These days she is making proper sentences with actual joining words…E.g.

Cass: Where's grandpa?

Azi: He's in his office (not just "in office")

Cass: Where's Sush?

Azi: She's with grandpa

It's very hard to adequately capture all her mannerisms, because it's all about her tone, facial expressions and hand gestures….Like if I'm sitting with Sush, she's comes over and, in a high pitched voice, says "Sush so cute, she's your baby".

She really gets it and always knows what we're talking about, so she adjust her pitch and tone accordingly

My favourite thing she says lately is "You're welcome" whenever someone says thank you….OR if she says thank you and you forget to say anything, she chimes in "You're welcome"

She's also very aware of how she affects other people and her surroundings….so if she think's she has bumped me or Sush or something, she straightaway, in the most genuine, sweetest tone says "Sorry!"

She loves being part of the gang, hanging out with Zaz and Ally or Zaz and her friends

But just as cute as she is, she can turn very quickly when she doesn't get her way- lots of frowning, flying arms, scrunched face, pouty lips- it's actually very entertaining and hard to get angry.

What's Azi up to these days!

Mom says, 'this post is long overdue! And hopefully while I'm standing in the sun, while Azi sleeps in the car - I'll use the time to try remember all the cute (and no so cute) things she says and does.

Firstly, Azi has a new routine! She wakes up at 5:15 or so and says, 'good morning mom, the sun is out (ITS NOT!), please can I have a banana in bed! (She used to wake up and say, 'banana in bed now' - but a few mornings of training have resulted in a more pleasant wake up) ... To which mom says, 'the sun is not up yet, 5 more minutes sleep' ... And the starts the 2 year old negotiations, - with hands flapping everywhere, 'but WHY 5 more minutes sleep, the sun is up! I want a banana now' ... This continues for 10 minutes, followed by 5 mins of lie down, and then up again.

Azi loves to say, 'so cute', 'that's adorable', 'that's amazing', 'awesome' 'so awesome'

Az has a tendency to get very irritated with Zaz, and Zaz will be dancing or sitting on her scooter or something and az will break out into a hand flapping, feet stamping and say, 'zaaaaazaaaa why are you doing ... Zaaaaazaaaa stop doing that' (it's actually very cute and very hard not to laugh)

Today at gym with granny she sat down and said, 'this is very boring', 'I have a good idea'

When we ask her where Bern is, she answers 'his gone to do uber'

Ok - pumpkin patch has woken up!
